I Have Dreams was a screamo/emo band from Tallahassee, Florida, that was born from the ashes of a band called New Ethic, when their guitar player Daniel died in a car accident. New Ethic played their last show in August, 1998 with Daniel's best friend Mike Hanson in his place, and it was about a month or two later that I Have Dreams started playing. The band consisted of Allen Compton and Mike Peters on vocals, Mike Hanson on guitar, Ben Seals on bass and Clayton Rychlick on drums. I Have Dreams were more than a band - in the words of Mike Peters: "It was an attempt to cope with the pain everyone was feeling after Daniel's death."I Have Dreams were together for roughly six months, and they broke up in the Spring (around April/May) of 1999.

As The Sun Sets
01/25/24

Based in Providence, USA, As The Sun Sets played a blistering amalgam of grind/metal influenced hardcore. The band released a full length recording (now long out of print) on Moment of Clarity Records, which was advertised for and distributed by Trash Art. This recording was later reissued in a stripped-down version by the City of Hell label. In 2002 the band came back to the public eye as a more volatile beast. The metallic mosh-heavy sound of their earlier material was replaced as the group introduced a noisier, more frenetic approach to songwriting on the "7744" album, released by Undecided records. The band's final release was an EP which brought the band back to Trash Art. Steve Austin from noted noise/metal act Today Is The Day mastered a second mix of the material, which was released as "8949". The EP was very short, clocking in at under five minutes in length, and showcased what would be the last material the band had written. It included an instrumental track (with screaming low in the mix to maintain atmosphere) and was considered a disappointment by some fans who did not like the new sound, or felt it was too short. Contrary to popular belief, the band was broken up long before "8949" was released, and had stopped functioning by the time these final recordings were finished. At the same time, drummer Jon Syverson, who had been living in Austin, TX, returned to New England and formed a new group with two former members of ATSS. That group was to be called Daughters.

I Declare War
01/25/24

For Seattle’s I Declare War, one of the new heavyweights in the deathcore scene today, there are conflicting stories as to where the band’s name actually originated from. All five members can agree that hip hop was the influence, either based on the Jay-Z tour or the Pace Won album, both of which bear the same name. The fact that the deathcore band’s name is inspired by hip hop is not ironic at all, as I Declare War will concur that their diverse musical influences help keep their sound unique and fresh.

Cephalotripsy
01/25/24

Ideas had been composed in 2003 by guitarist Nick Ochs to start a project which would in the future become Cephalotripsy. Within two and a half years, drummer Kyle Heart,(Dark Lay Still), joined. Producing unheard of inhuman drum abilities, we were off to compose material with newly joined bassist Rah(skelator). Due to the departure of Rah for relocating purposes as well as Kyle for similiar reasons, a search was conducted once again for the next year and a half. At the introduction of Forrest Stedt(Condemned) at a show, the need of a drummer was brought about and he agreed to tryout. Drummer Forrest Stedt and Vocalist Angel Ochoa(Condemned) pushed themselves and were ripping through material days on end. Upon the creation of 3 songs: Aesthetic Upholstery of Molested Dead Flesh, Embryonic Gastronomy and Sanguinary Misogynistic Execration, a three song demo was recorded. Cephalotripsy was formed in San Diego, CA.

Gutted With Broken Glass
01/25/24

Gutted with Broken Glass was a cybergrind band from Riverside, California. Their sound is self-described as being the progenitors of a style of music called "pirate grind", and to a small extent they attempt to incorporate pirate themes and ideology into their look and their music.
In 2007, the band released the 14 song Beaten to a Bloody Pulp on Grindhead Records. This stands to be the band's only official release, although other recordings have made their way out of the studio and on to the internet. For years, the band has appeared to be on hiatus, with no news, no new music and no responses to messages on their Myspace page. This has lead many to believe that the band is no longer making music, or that the members are currently engaged with other projects.with Broken Glass was a cybergrind band from Riverside, California. Dr. Acula
01/23/24

Dr. Acula was a deathcore band from Long Island, New York. The band's name comes from a joke written by stand-up comedian Mitch Hedberg. Most of their earlier songs are named after books in R.L. Stine's GOOSEBUMPS series. Dr. Acula formed in September 2005 and quickly accumulated a following thanks to non-stop DIY touring, energetic performances, and not taking themselves too seriously.
They self-released their first recording, Chillogy EP, in 2006. Early copies were packaged inside Goosebumps books from their personal collection. Their first full-length "S.L.O.B" (Silver-Lipped Operator of Bullshit) was self-released in 2007, and later reissued by 187 Records.
